Lyrics

Her back is arched against the sky Her arms reach up like a swan about to fly She leans in low and leaps up like a flame Comes down gentle like the early autumn rain All I can do is stare Cause my own shoes won’t take me anywhere And the band’s playing in her soul Is it Mozart or jelly roll She twirls around and tips her hat Hey, I just wanna dance like that Her body willows, swaying in the breeze She wraps her colors around the children and the trees Her eyes send invitations She flirts with our imaginations Silk and dandelions flying everywhere A thousand wishes float like magic in the air Everybody’s smiling and I’m dying Cause my heart’s spinning round and round But my feet just won’t leave the ground My grown-up self begins to blur Cause I just wanna dance like her Flowers bend, she’s whirling by Startling bees and dragon flies Gliding through the fountain mist Rainbows stretch across her bliss Now she bows to the old oak tree But I still hear the melody The wind is pushing at my back I just wanna dance like that

Lyrics

Dress me up in fancy things Why don’t you fix my hair I’ve never been the queen of style You know I don’t really care Tell me about your softball game Is right field the place to be You roll your eyes and sigh out loud Cause sports mean nothing to me But I can’t wait to see you catch the ball Every day, I pray you’ll have it all Read me the poem you wrote last night Show me the picture you drew You say its not perfect, you don’t think its right I do You’ve never been easy to convince You’ve challenged me all the way I show you the sun is coming out You tell me the sky looks gray I can’t wait to see you catch the ball Every day, I pray you’ll have it all How are things with your new love Why must the subject change Won’t you be cold in that little dress What if it starts to rain Please come home before midnight Call me if you get bored I’ll pretend to be asleep When I hear your key in the door I can’t wait to hug you goodnight Every day, I pray I’ve done things right

Lyrics

I saw a sign for Sand Dollar Beach Must be a thousand sand dollars here I walked down the path to the glittering sand All I wanted was a little souvenir Sky was blue, the tide was low I searched all over the glassy shore Splashed around, dug in my toes Couldn’t find what I was looking for There’re no sand dollars on Sand Dollar Beach Pelicans gliding overhead Smooth jade pebbles washed in on the swells I had to watch my step Lots of little hermit crabs in oversized shells No sand dollars on Sand Dollar Beach I gazed at the cliffs and the big brown boulders Looked in every nook and cranny while I walked Out in the maze of the slippery tide pools 24 star fish were clinging to a rock Reds and orange and lavender hues Colors danced all over my eyes Many anenomes kissed my fingers Spiny little urchins waved goodbye No sand dollars at Sand Dollar Beach Lots of pretty things within my reach
